Reality TV star and former Big Brother Naija winner, Phyna, has described October 2 as a special date in her life after recording another victory in the boxing ring.

Phyna, in an unusual post on X on Friday, reflected on her victory over actress Nkechi Blessing in a celebrity boxing bout held on Thursday, noting that the date also marked the anniversary of her emergence as the winner of Big Brother Naija.

She said the latest victory represented another milestone in her journey from reality television to boxing.

“October 2nd will forever be a special date in my life. ❤️🏆

“Today marks the anniversary of the day I won BBN, and now, years later, I’m celebrating another historic victory becoming the first female boxer to step into this ring and win this fight,” she wrote.

Phyna said her transition from reality television to the boxing ring reflected her willingness to challenge herself and push beyond public expectations.

“From reality TV to the boxing ring, I’ve always been willing to challenge myself, break barriers and prove that there is so much more to Phyna than what people see,” she added.

The reality star dedicated the victory to women who had been told they could not achieve certain goals.

“This one is for every woman who has ever been told she couldn’t. We can. We will. And we absolutely should,” she said.

Phyna also thanked Balmoral Promotions and Bet9ja for giving her the opportunity to participate in the boxing event.

“October 2nd a date of victory, courage and new beginnings,” she added.
