All roads will on Sunday, December, 29, 2024 lead to Ihite Okwe in Ngor Okpala Local Government Area of Imo State when Chief Celestine Nwannegbulam Okere, the Aladinma 1 of Ihite Okwe and his wife, Lolo Agnes Onyenonachibeya Okere will be holding a special thanksgiving service to celebrate their 60 years of marital life.
According to the programme of event, there will be a Thanksgiving Mass at St Peter Clever Catholic Church, Umuagbom Ihite, Ngor Okpala Local Government Area, Imo State by 9 am after which reception follows immediately at Chief Aladinma compound at Umueke, Ihite Ngor Okpala, Imo State.
Speaking on the secret behind their unbroken marriage, Chief Okere ascribed it to love, trust, faithfulness and their strong Christian background.
” I must give God all the Glory for sustaining our marriage for the past 60 years. Our togetherness is built on love, trust and faithfullness to each other.
” Our strong Catholic faith also contributed to our long marriage. As Catholics we, believe in ‘ For Better For Worse’ and ‘Till Death Do Us Part’ and we have been living with those doctrines which has made our marriage strong.
He advised young couples to always hand their marriage over to God, love one another and be truthful to their spouse in other to enjoy married life.
Collaborating him, his wife, Lolo Lolo Agnes Okere stated that what is important in marriage is to put God first followed by love, forgiveness, truthfulness and faithfullness noting that once couples are able to abide by these principles, they will enjoy their marriage.
” We have had our bad and good times since we became husband and wife but what kept us going these 60 years is our trust in God, love, truthfulness, forgiveness and being able to accommodate each other’s shortcomings and I believe that if the younger generation can emulate us, they’ll enjoy their marriage”, she stated with confidence.
